Theresa gained manufacturing experience managing projects that focused on process-based initiatives resulting in significant improvements in productivity and employee morale. At Harley Davidson Motor Company, Theresa was ranked in the top 5% of best facilitators, completed over 2,000 hours of leadership training, and facilitated over 1,500 hours of management and leadership workshops.
As Human Resource Director of Training & Organizational Development for Simmons Bedding Company, Theresa was able to expand their focus on people development and was responsible for managing a $3-million training budget. Theresa was able to turn Simmons into an organization for learning by creating a fun and interactive training strategy and developing several in-house trainers at each of their 22 facilities. Through the success of Theresa’s role in leading positive change and coordinating efforts to achieve employee involvement and feedback, employees voted Simmons (for the first time in their 100+ year history) into Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For. Theresa is a Certified Development Dimensions International Facilitator for High-Performance Work Organizations, a certified Inside Out Coaching Facilitator. She has facilitated courses on conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, situational leadership, diversity & inclusion, generational differences, and communications skills, among others. She is also experienced in Kaizen/Lean manufacturing process improvement. Theresa has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University.
